These websites have one way or another been added to ways I waste time throughout the day. Thanks internets!
Lamebook -- screenshots of facebook accounts.
LOLcats -- Kitties. Oh, and every website at the top of their page..you know, lolcelebs, fails, news, etc.
Awkward family photos -- I love the ones from the 70s and 80s.
Cake wrecks -- Some great chefs out there.
People of Walmart -- Just...wow.
Fixing things -- You can fix it. Yes, you can.
This is why you're fat -- Most of these pictures just totally gross me out.
Photobombs -- My daughter will be on this website one day.
Ugliest tattoos -- Why you should always check an artist's portfolio.
Passive aggressive notes -- Haven't we all done this? I have.
Overheard conversations -- Funny.
Picture is unrelated -- WTF.
Internet ad listings -- Items not as described.
And finally, epic hair -- Don't you judge them!

Pretty soon it will be Skylar's tenth birthday. DECADE. I can't believe how fast this ten years has gone by. I know it's cliche to say, but the time really does fly by. She's going to be having her birthday party at the skating rink here. It should be super fun! I haven't skated since I was sixteen or so. This year I got her some shoes, t shirts, a crapload of dresses and this rad corduroy peacoat! She's at that age where she doesn't want toys, she'd rather have stuff like this. She loves dressing up and being "fashionable." She's also at the age where she's sort of in between sizes which is totally annoying. She had been wearing a size 10/12, but a lot of the clothes she has that size are starting to be too small for her now. So I ordered all her new stuff in the next size up, size 14/16. I figured that if it was a little big, it would be much better than a little small. She's definitely not done growing yet! ha. When the clothes arrived, everything looked pretty good....except for the coat. It is HUGE! So huge, in fact, that it fits me perfectly. So, because I have a deep love for corduroy and peacoats, I decided to keep that for myself and buy her a different one. haha! I had actually considered buying myself an adult version of that coat anyway and this worked out cheaper. To replace her present, I bought her this red peacoat instead in a smaller size. It came in today and looks great!
While we're on the subject of clothes, I finally found myself the hoodie I've been looking for! Ever since we got Spencer his awesome skull Halloween print hoodie last year, I've been looking for something similar for myself, except girly. I searched high and low and couldn't find what I wanted. The print was never right and the price of the hoodies was always $40 or so. I decided to try and find one again since it was coming up on Halloween again. I searched and searched and searched and finally found what I was looking for at an ebay store! For only $9.99!! And it was new! I heart it! So I scored two new jackets. YESSSSSS!
Hobbes has fit in pretty well, with people anyway. Mom cat attacks him at every chance she gets. Lucky growls and hisses at him. Jubei is tolerant and sometimes let's him sleep near him, but also swats and hisses. Basil is just a big scaredy cat, like always, but they have been running around the house and playing together. We've been letting him in the house and he's remarkably well behaved. He is almost always purring. He is even litter box trained, to my delight, and uses the box ALL THE TIME. haha. He's the only kitty not really scared of Spencer and they run around and play all day long. (Calvin and Hobbes anyone?) He has a vet appointment on Monday to get neutered and to get his shots.
My sleep has been much better since getting ambien. It absolutely helps me fall asleep. It's great. The only downside was that my insurance didn't cover it and a month's supply was $50! As my month was running out, I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to fill it anymore. $50 is a lot. So I started searching the internets for coupons. I found coupons for ambien cr, but not the regular stuff. While searching, I stumbled across some forums where a lady said she used a coupon at www.coupons.com for her ambien prescription that brought the cost down a lot. So, I went there and searched. There were two coupons, one said 25% off at the pharmacy and the other said 75% off. They both looked very generic, no kind of drug companies on them or anything. I installed the website's coupon printer and printed them out. My dad works as a pharmacy tech at the Walgreen's here so I figured I'd give them to him to see if they took anything off. He said coupons like that usually take a dollar or so off. He took them with him and told me he'd fill my prescription and lemme know. He called me a few hours later and said the first coupon I gave him knocked the price down to $34.74. I was shocked! And then he said the second one knocked it down to $9.88!!!! HOLY SHIT. And the best part is these coupons have unlimited uses and don't expire until the end of next year! I couldn't believe it!! So if any of you have pricey prescriptions, go print out those coupons and give them a try!! But be sure to keep a copy. One of the coupons you can only print out twice. My dad gave me mine back so I could use them again. (Yes, I realize I'm getting old because I'm happy for getting discounts on my prescription, but I don't care. SLEEP IS MOAR GUD)
My mom told me that she may be coming to visit me after Thanksgiving! I'm so excited!! I love my mommy!
And now I must go cook dinner. Then grocery shopping.
Oh, and THREE MONTHS TILL DISNEY! HELL YEAHHHHHH HHHHH! :D :D

We went to Niceville, FL this weekend. I have to admit, I was sort of not looking forward to it. We don't really have much contact with Brian's father and wife, so I wasn't too sure how it would go. I shouldn't have worried, though, as we all had a great time.
We left after Brian got home from work Friday. It took us about two hours to get there, not too bad. We didn't really do anything that night. The kids ran up and down the stairs a million times and played in the loft. The adults all enjoyed a cocktail or two. We all went to bed very late that night.
The kids woke up bright and early on Saturday morning, like always, but we were allowed to sleep in! Nice surprise. The grandparents took the kids out for a walk with the dog and then down to the pool for most of the morning. When they got back, everyone changed clothes, the adults had some more cocktails, then we headed out for dinner by the sea.
We drove over to Destin and enjoyed a delicious dinner of shrimp in a restaurant that's right on the water. We saw a pirate ship! And it shot its cannons! After that, we did some shopping and Spencer found a NEW cop uniform. He naturally had to wear it immediately while we were walking around. (Funny thing that we noticed later..there were kids dressed up in costumes on the package. They all had name tags on. The kid dressed up in the cop uniform had the name SPENCER on his name tag! haha. Weird.) Skylar got a new diary and a new Webkins stuffed doggie.
After shopping we picked up another drink from the daiquiri shop and headed down for a glass bottom boat tour. We got to go around and look at the scenery. The kids got to feed a bunch of seagulls cheetos. They even took a few from Skylar's hand. Getting out into the Gulf of Mexico was sort of rough. There were very large waves and the boat was pitching and rolling pretty hard! Spencer thought it was funny and Skylar cried. Once we got out into the Gulf, the water was much calmer. There were a few dolphins out there and lots of jellyfish! Purple jellyfish, in fact. We got to watch a gorgeous sunset over the sea. Spencer even got to go into the wheelhouse, wear the captain's hat and drive the boat! The whole cruise around lasted well more than an hour and I suggest that everyone do it. It was a lot of fun!
Oh, I almost forgot. When we first arrived, we saw these fishermen with their very large red fish hanging on hooks. They were filleting them for customers right there on the deck. We pointed out the fish to the kids and Spencer asked if the fish were alive. We told him no, that they were cutting them up for people to eat. He got VERY angry, screwed his face into a frown, and started yelling that he didn't want them to do that. He did not want the poor fishies to get eaten. I think that ties back to Spongebob! We had to quickly leave that area! haha.
Sunday morning, we got to sleep in AGAIN! Amazing. I believe Skylar and Stacy went out for a walk with the dog, and Spencer and his Grandpa went fishing. Then they took the kids out on their boat for a few hours where they got to drive up to a beach and play in the water. When they were finished with that, they came in for a quick bite to eat, then they went down to the pool! They love the water. They were down there for HOURS. I opted to stay in and enjoy the peace and quiet since I'm not so much into water things. Skylar burned a little bit, but Spencer got about four shades darker! That kid never burns.
When everyone finally got in, we went out to eat Mexican! Yummy. We said our goodbyes and headed home, much later than I had wanted to. We arrived home at about 9 and the kids were so tired!! The weekend was surprisingly very lovely and we all had a great time.
Don't really have any pics because we forgot to bring the camera out with us on Saturday. Doh. Also, a black spot has suddenly appeared on the INSIDE of the lens. >:[ So we're going to have to get that sorted out. Should still be covered under warranty since we got it in March.
Some other good news, Brian's father has told us that we are welcome to use the condo any time it's not being rented out!! For free!!! He's currently waiting on word from the management company to see if they have it rented out for my bday weekend or not. I hope it isn't rented, but if it is, we can always use it some other weekend.
This morning Skylar started her first day of 4th grade! She was very, very excited. She got the teacher she wanted and all of her friends are in her class. She loves school. I know she was getting bored near the end of her vacation. Now she'll be able to socialize with her friends and get out of the house. Spencer is now a little lonely without his sister to play with. He had really gotten used to her being here to play with. I've been playing with him in between the chores and stuff. So, it's been a busy day. Thank goodness for naptime! ;)

Did you kiss someone before you were sixteen?
Mhm, I did.
Are you good at hiding your feelings?
Well, it depends. If I am not close to someone, I can totally hide my feelings. Around those who know me best, not so much.
Do you wave when you see people you know?
Sometimes. I usually smile.
Last four people to text you?
Brian, Jeremy, Danielle, Jess
Who are you disappointed in right now?
Hmm, guess that would have to be a few people who I thought were friends, but turned out not to be. I'm more indifferent now than disappointed, though.
Do you ever wonder what your ex is up to?
I know what a few of them are up to, and those that I don't I'm not really interested in finding out.
Do you want to get married?
I am! Hope to stay that way foreva.
How many kids do you want?
The two I have are enough. I've got one of each, boy and a girl. Besides, if we had any more, we'd be headed into minivan territory and who the hell wants that?
Last person you hugged?
Spencerface!
Last person you held hands with?
My love.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
Hell no. Lust at first sight, sure.
Do you know someone who likes you?
Nobody likes me. Everybody hates me. Guess I'll go eat worms!
Would you kiss anyone on your top?
I just randomized my top friends on myspace, so I dunno who's up there at any given time.
Do you have trust issues?
As a general rule, I don't trust people. People will fuck you over in a heartbeat. They need to earn that trust, imo.
What does your 5th text message say?
"Lol I know but you guys are fail"
Do you drink Red Bull or any other energy drink?
Nah. I do drink coffee, though. Lovely, delicious coffee. Mmmm..
What were you doing at 11pm lastnight?
Trying to fall asleep. I can't sleep for shit lately and it's driving me fucking crazy.
Name something you have in common with all of your siblings?
Hmm...Umm...Hell. There's five of them, most of them are in their 40s/50s. I don't really think there's anything we all have in common.
Who is the last person who wrote a letter to you on paper?
I guess that would have to be my mom. When she sends us little care packages in the mail, she usually includes a note.
Have you ever had the same dream more than once?
I have recurring dreams about tornadoes. I don't like them.
Do you prefer regular or chocolate milk?
I don't like milk at all. Yucko.
Can you whistle?
Sure.
What color are the pants you're wearing?
I'm wearing Brian's Guinness pajama pants. haha.
Last song you sang out loud?
Umm...probably something Spongebob related.
Would you ever get a tattoo?
Absolutely! Actually talked about it with a friend who does that yesterday.
Describe your hair.
Erm, short...brown. I think I may grow it out, actually.
Do you wear the hood on your hoodies?
Sometimes, when it gets chilly enough..or rainy!
Do you find the opposite sex confusing?
Not really. My friends tend to be guys anyway. I don't really like too many girls. They're scandalous.
How has this week been?
Been pretty alright. Can't complain.
Why did you last laugh really hard?
Probably something to do with the chirrens.
Are you proud of the person you've become?
Yeah, I think so. I'm not perfect, of course, but I'm happy where I am right now.
Do you know anyone that smokes pot?
hahahahahaha
Does anyone think you are a bitch?
Oh for sure.
Do you think relationships are ever really worth it?
Absolutely.
Do you care if your girlfriend/ ?boyfriend smokes?
Yeah. I'm an ex-smoker though...we're the worst. haha. I really can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke. Or the way it permeates their clothing. Yucko.
Are you slowly drifting away from someone?
It happens. Sometimes you drift back together, sometimes you don't. That's life.
Have you ever fallen asleep on someone?
Chyeah.
Mhm, I did.

Let's go back to Father's Day weekend. The babysitter we had lined up for months backed out two days before the show. Absolutely not surprising, since she was the wife of the "friend" that recently freaked out. I won't retell that story as most of those who read this already know about what happened. But, thankfully, my dad was able to babysit at the last minute.
The show was great! It was very, very hot inside the place, though. Twenty minutes after arriving, I was dripping sweat, which is unusual for me. I'm not a sweater. There were soooo many people there. And that just made the heat worse. We ran into some old friends that I hadn't seen in years. Since about 1998 actually. That was a nice surprise. We caught up with Artimus and Mo, too, which was super nice. Leftover Crack was great and they played all the songs I wanted to hear. :) The Casualties were also good, but I'm not much of a fan. We bought some t shirts and headed home after it was over. Good times.
Sunday was Father's Day. I had given my dad his present the night before..Coca-Cola pajama pants! He had to work that day, so he left early that morning. Brian slept in while Spencer made him a card. The day was spent just hanging out. Skylar was gone with Joey, but he brought her back that afternoon. She gave Brian a card she had made him earlier in the week. We had chicken tikka masala and chicken vindaloo for dinner! Brian didn't end up getting a computer chair. He opted instead to get Ninja Gaiden 2. Good day overall.
Last week was not a good week for famous people. Ed MacMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson and Billy Mays. Man. I made a MJ station on pandora. haha. And, yes, I will only thumbs up music from Michael and the Jackson 5, thanks.
I took the kids shopping this weekend and Skylar has been bugging me for a new pair of shoes. So, we're in the shoe section searching, searching, searching. Most of their shoes aren't even out because they're re-arranging the store. I already knew she had huge feet. So, I suggested we look in the women's section and see if she could fit any there. She wears a 6 1/2 in women's! OMG! I only wear a 7 1/2. She's going to be one of those ladies with enormous feet. I just hope she has the height to match it. I'm sure she will. She's already up to my shoulder now.
We ate one of our cucumbers a few nights ago! It tasted like a real cucumber. hahaha. We have a bunch of tomoatoes growing, but the damn bugs..they keep eating them. :( A friend of mine suggested that we spray them with a light mix of water and lemon dish soap, so I'm going to try that. The bugs only seem to be munching on the tomatoes, so I guess they're tasty. We've harvested a bunch of jalapenos and are gonig to make the Pioneer Woman's cream cheese jalapeno thingies. Tonight! The yellow bell peppers are getting quite large and are almost ready to go, I think. And we have four or five watermelons that are getting big. Only one cantaloupe so far, though. Growing your own food is rockin'. :)
We finally had a thunderstorm yesterday and it was soooo nice. We've been needing rain. The only thing that sucks is every time lightning flashes, our internet goes out. =/ haha. Oh well. I got some much needed deep cleaning in the kitchen done. :D

Joey is a douchebag. I think that everyone knows that by now. When he brought Skylar home on Sunday afternoon, he promised her he would bring his band over to meet her. Today. After all, he is playing a show just down the road in Pascagoula. So...guess who didn't show up? Or even bother to call her? That's right. He just left her hanging in the wind. Again.
I got a phone call from a number I didn't recognize on my cell phone Sunday night. I usually don't answer, but I did this time. It was an automated message from a collection agency....for JOSEPH CULVER! What. The. Fuck. Why in the hell is he giving out my cell phone number?! He claims he isn't..but...he is. I am not about to deal with collection agencies looking for him. F that right in the A.
I got a phone call from my niece, Danielle, today. We're the same age. She told me that her mother, my sister Tammy, is in the hospital because her liver is failing. Right now, they're awaiting test results so she can know what her options are. She's already told her youngest daughter, Ashley, that she will refuse any type of treatment.
A lot of people would be upset at this news, but I'm indifferent. My sister actually told me recently that she didn't want me in her life. I was indifferent about that as well. You see, my sister is a drug addict and master manipulator. She uses people and discards them. Her family is no different. She lost her children to foster care for years, they even came to live with my parents when I was a kid for a while. When she got them back, she made Danielle take care of the rest of the kids and treated her like complete shit. Three of her five children want nothing to do with her. She was/is a drug dealer and has been to prison twice because of it. She is still using drugs, lying and manipulating. She has had many health problems over the years due to this..she has hepatitis C, spots on her lungs which may or may not be cancer, a thyroid problem which she is supposed to take pills for..and doesn't.
So, my sister may be dying. She is nearly 50 and to be quite honest, I'm surprised this didn't happen sooner. I'm sure I'm coming off as a cold hearted bitch, but you have no idea the way she's treated my family over the years. Danielle is conflicted as to whether she should go see her or not. She really doesn't want to have anything to do with her. Personally, I won't be going up for a visit. I would probably go up for her funeral. Sad to say I really don't want to go up there otherwise. There's always a bunch of drama surrounding her, too.
Anyway...
We finally got rain today! It's been soooo long. And so damn hot. The rain was badly needed. Besides, I love the rain.
****EDIT: So, I just got an update from my mom on my sister. Her liver is NOT failing, but something is wrong. She has been referred to a specialist, but whether she actually goes is yet to be seen. She has lost 70 pounds in the last three months and has bruises all over her body. I suspect it's cancer, as she never got anything done with the spots on her lungs. Not even a diagnosis. So, that's all I know. My mom is upset..obviously. No mother wants to think about out living her child. I'm still indifferent. Hearing my mom's voice break over the phone is almost too much for me to handle, though. I wish I could give her a hug.

That is the sneaky cucumber. And, yes, it's yellow. Apparently we hadn't noticed it at it's peak and they turn yellow when they are overripe. Isn't it HUGE?!?!?!
